I'm blogging this from the public library. My power got shut off this morning. received a check in the mail that will cover it--- but my space age futuristic bank apparently has to wait for confirmation on it via Pony Express, so they've put a hold on it for 7 days. Barring fortuitous circumstances I will be without electricity (and money other than pocket change) for at least a week.
I want to throttle an international banker right now. They can send an overdraft notice from here to Bangkok in a billionth of a second, but they can't call the bank of origin for a check and confirm if it's collectible or not.... |
